Universal Access

Universal Access is a component of Houghton Mifflin Reading where students practice what they have learned and deepen their understanding of concepts.

Every day, students will read, practice fluency, review spelling or vocabulary words, and work in their writing folders. After these activities are completed, students may choose from several activities, including working at the art center, playing a learning game, and typing a piece of writing on the computer.

While the students are working independently, I will work with students in small groups to reteach any material that has not been mastered, to help a student who has been absent, to conference about a piece of writing, and other purposes as needed.
